The past seven days in sneaker news have been quieter than others, but have delivered sufficient news to make savvy and casual footwear enthusiasts alike excited for what’s left in 2022.
In addition to unveiling the Serena Williams Building, the largest office structure on its world headquarters, NIKE, Inc. shared that it’d been working on the Nike ISPA Link and Link Axis. Informed by the pillars of Improvise, Scavenge, Protect and Adapt, the two pairs can be fully disassemble and are contrasted with 100% recycled materials. Beyond simply being innovative footwear designs, the pairs further demonstrate what’s possible when some of the most brilliant minds come together to tackle performance, sustainability and other issues.
Away from any swoosh logo, James Whitner and his The Whitaker Group officially announced release details for the A Ma Maniére x Air Jordan 2 “Airness” collaboration. Set to drop on May 13th, the sneaker indulges in similar design cues as the boutique’s past efforts with the Jumpman family. adidas Yeezy was associated with new takes on old designs, while Aimé Leon Dore‘s Teddy Santis announced and released his first collection as Creative Director of New Balance‘s “Made In USA” program.
