The contract is expected to be for two years and $25 million with an opt-out that can increase it to $37 million, per ESPN’s Alden González.
The Rangers continue their big off-season, adding another starter to their rotation after signing Jacob deGrom on Friday.
Heaney spent 2022 with the Los Angeles Dodgers, appearing in 16 games. The 31-year-old threw 72.2 innings with a 3.10 ERA and 110 strikeouts.
The former Miami Marlins first-round pick has spent nine years in the majors, playing for the Marlins, Dodgers, Los Angeles Angeles and New York Yankees.
Earlier in the day, The New York Post‘s Heyman reported that Heaney’s market included the Rangers, Toronto Blue Jays and San Francisco Giants.
