Members of the filmmaking neighborhood are expressing their grief after cinematographer Halyna Hutchins died following a prop firearm discharge on the set of Rust.
In response to the Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Workplace, Halyna and director Joel Souza have been shot when solid member Alec Baldwin “discharged” a prop gun on the movie’s New Mexico set. Halyna, 42, was pronounced lifeless after being airlifted to a close-by hospital, whereas Joel was taken in an ambulance to a hospital to be handled for his accidents.
In an announcement obtained by E! Information, the movie’s manufacturing firm, Rust Film Productions LLC, expressed “our deepest condolences to Halyna’s household and family members.” Within the message, the movie’s workforce members stated they’ve halted manufacturing “for an undetermined time frame and are totally cooperating with the Santa Fe Police Division’s investigation.”
Alec’s consultant advised E! Information that “an accident” happened involving “the misfire of a prop gun with blanks.” In response to police, an investigation is ongoing, and no fees have been filed in connection to the incident.
